My name is Charles Bray, and I am the founder and executive director of Sumorai Kids World Festival (SKWF).

Our original Sumokids Initiative program has been successfully field-tested and proven since 2005, helping us guide boys and girls through a well-designed training session that ultimately had them competing against each other in a one-on-one battle that required leverage and positioning skills; it proved to be very successful in keeping kids off the streets and focused on worthwhile activities. We believe that every child deserves a chance to succeed and to unleash their potential, regardless of their background or abilities. This mindset has led us to the next phase of our Sumo program:

The Sumorai Kids World Festival (SKWF) production concept is born from – and is a continuation of – the initial Sumokids Initiative after-school program. This new phase of our program is a unique and exciting venture dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged students and those with disabilities – indeed, all students – through sports education and animation.

Participants get involved in the ‘Battle of the Sumorai Mascots’ tournaments, having learned through our program the many guiding principles of Sumo - including dignity, respect, hard work, grace, and loyalty - and the importance of clean living and physical fitness. Beyond this, our youth participants will have the opportunity to participate in the production of a live-action CGI motion-capture animated TV series in a modified sumo wrestling tournament, enabling them to showcase their varied talents and skills as they undertake the training and all the tasks required to put together a live SKWF production.

While we are establishing our program in North America, we will work to expand SKWF into Mexico, Africa, England, and globally.
