You helped keep our Abortion Clinic Open! We remained standing to provide abortion care beyond 15-weeks once again. The week of 12/9/24, we provided care for our first patient beyond 15-weeks gestation since December 2022.

Your donations will help us purchase the supplies we need and pay the staff we need to expand our capacity to provide much needed abortion care later in pregnancy to Arizonans and those who travel to us from out of state. Desert Star Institute for family planning is an independent abortion clinic. Desert Star was founded in 2013 by Dr. DeShawn Taylor as her privately owned practice to bring just, dignified, and exceptional health care to medically underserved and ethnically diverse communities in Arizona. The Desert Star clinic was on the verge of closing and we acquired it to keep essential services in the community.

We are a beacon and a safe space for historically marginalized communities who traditionally face barriers to care. We center them. We serve them. They deserve just equitable access to health care and that is what we strive to provide. Yes we are an abortion clinic, and yes, we are so much more to the community that has come to rely on us for their care and well-being.

Arizonans deserve access to the care and resources they need to thrive. If, when, and how to form families is one of the biggest decisions that a person can make. We need to trust pregnant people with autonomy over their bodies and lives. They know what is best for themselves and their families.
