Your Family is Your Home and You Always Protect Your Home

Filmanthropy Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, mission supports local filmmakers and creatives, but right now we're fundraising for families of our Ukrainian film community here in the United states to help them move their families to safety and a new beginning.

Ask yourselves “What might force you and your family to abandon your home and leave your country?”

My name is Vadym Medvediuk. I am an LA-based filmmaker from Rivne, Ukraine. My home, my family, my friends and my country is being attacked by the neighboring invader, whom we called brother. I’m partnering with my friends at Filmanthropy for this fundraising campaign to help my family and others affected by these unspeakable events. This conflict has created one of the world’s largest and fastest waves of displacement in modern history.

For anyone but especially a child, being forced to flee your home is a life-changing event. It often results in being forced to take risks, and make difficult decisions that impact lives long after the conflict has ended.
Most important for me right now is to help support my family that has finally made it to Poland. Additionally I would like to support Ukrainian refugees abroad. Escaping the war zone is only the beginning of a long journey refugees face after they make it to safety. I also want to support the Ukrainian army by providing them with funds and means to continue the fight for their freedom.
I’m asking today for your help, wishing that you never find yourself in a situation like this, pleading for support, and never waking up to the horrors that the Ukrainian people are going through.
My first goal is to raise at least $20,000 that will help several filmmakers’ families including my own, to settle abroad for the next three months. Hopefully with the generosity of our amazing filmmaker community we will raise a lot more than that so we can do more.

We are a team of friends, filmmakers of LA (who get impossible sh*t done). We work with trusted people already on the ground to provide medical help, accommodations, food, and other support to women, children, and the elderly. We will make sure the help goes directly to the people that need it the most. We will continue researching and providing information on all available resources and to post them on Filmanthropy Foundation's Support Ukraine page.

War doesn’t have a schedule, war is cruel and unpredictable. One day the beautiful eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv was blooming with culture and prosperity and next it is being demolished with its habitats inside their homes, crying for their lives. The only thing left is hope, and people like you who care and want to help.

My sincere thank you for helping Ukrainians in their time of need.
