In December 2025, I responded almost overnight to the Cambodia–Thailand border, an active conflict zone, after receiving word that children had been displaced and their dormitories damaged. Because of my background as a general contractor and electrician, I initially came to help stabilize housing and make the spaces safe again. What I did not expect was how quickly the situation would escalate.

More than 50 children had lost their homes and family farms. Many were living in fear, uncertain where they would sleep next. We took them in and did everything we could to keep them safe near their old village in Sisophon so they could remain close to remaining family members. But after days of repeated bombardment, one morning the bombs landed so close that the ground shook violently and lights fell from the ceiling. At that point, staying was no longer an option.

We evacuated immediately.

For the past two months, I have been living with the children, caring for them day and night as we relocated to a large agricultural farm in central Cambodia. My days now look very different than when I arrived. I help provide structure, safety, and consistency. I make sure they eat, rest, learn, and still have moments to laugh and play. I teach practical skills and trades where possible, not just how to work with their hands, but how to do everything with excellence, integrity, and the understanding that our work is an offering to God.

When the children’s immediate needs are fully stabilized, my role will continue into rebuilding. The goal is not just to reconstruct homes and villages, but to do it in a way that teaches older youth who are interested in trades how to build, repair, and create something lasting. Skills become dignity. Knowledge becomes opportunity. Ownership replaces dependence.

At the same time, we are expanding our work. A new missionary will be joining us soon to help lead first aid training programs, equipping young people and communities with life-saving knowledge that is desperately needed in rural areas.

My journey with Cambodia began in 2018 with what was supposed to be a simple visit to see my childhood best friend. But during that first trip, something settled deep in my spirit. Cambodia was beautiful and full of warmth, yet marked by hardship that could not be ignored. I returned home changed, carrying a quiet but persistent sense that this country mattered to me in a way I could not explain.

Over the next several years, I returned again and again. Each visit deepened my connection and clarified the call. By 2022, after months of prayer asking God to shape my heart for Cambodia, I founded Majesty International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on long-term, trades-based education, youth development, and Christ-centered mentorship.

What Your Support Does

Your support allows me to serve as a full-time team member with Majesty International and to remain on the ground long-term in Cambodia. I have relocated here to live among the people we serve, and your partnership makes that possible.

All funds given through this page go directly toward supporting me as staff and the day-to-day ministry work I carry out. My salary is capped at $3,000 per month and covers basic living needs such as housing, transportation, food, and healthcare. Any support beyond that cap is directed back into Majesty International’s general fund or reserved for future program needs and sustainability.

What I’m Doing on the Ground

Right now, my focus includes:

• Living alongside displaced children and helping provide daily care, structure, and safety
• Teaching basic trades and practical skills with a focus on excellence and faith
• Learning the Khmer language to build deeper, more respectful relationships
• Building partnerships with schools, churches, hospitals, and community organizations
• Developing training programs such as Village First Aid, designed to equip thousands of young Cambodians with practical, culturally appropriate medical knowledge in partnership with local leaders and U.S.-based medical professionals

Majesty International does not arrive with quick solutions and leave. We live here. We stay. We walk with young people through hardship, growth, and leadership development so that one day this work belongs fully to them.

About Cambodia

Nestled in the heart of Southeast Asia, Cambodia is a country rich in history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Known for its iconic Angkor Wat temple complex and vibrant traditions, Cambodia also carries the weight of a tumultuous past that continues to shape its present and future.

Cambodia's history is a tale of both splendor and suffering. Once the center of the Khmer Empire, which ruled much of Southeast Asia from the 9th to 15th centuries, the country was home to architectural marvels and a thriving civilization. However, the 20th century brought immense hardship. Cambodia became a focal point during the Vietnam War, with U.S. bombing campaigns targeting communist forces operating within its borders. This instability paved the way for one of the darkest periods in its history: the Khmer Rouge regime.

From 1975 to 1979, under the rule of Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge sought to transform Cambodia into a classless, agrarian society. Cities were evacuated, and millions were forced into labor camps. Professionals such as lawyers, doctors, teachers, and intellectuals were systematically targeted and executed in an effort to erase the old order. This genocide claimed the lives of nearly two million people—almost a quarter of Cambodia's population at the time. The loss of its educated class left a profound void, one that the nation is still grappling with today.

Modern Cambodia is a striking blend of the old and new. In the capital city of Phnom Penh, bustling markets, motorbikes, and new skyscrapers coexist with remnants of French colonial architecture and quiet Buddhist pagodas. The energy is palpable, yet beneath the surface, the scars of history remain visible in its struggling infrastructure and the poverty that persists in many areas.

The countryside offers a starkly different experience. Here, rice paddies stretch as far as the eye can see, and life moves at a slower pace. Villages often consist of stilted homes, and livelihoods revolve around agriculture and traditional crafts. However, the lack of access to modern amenities and education remains a significant challenge for rural communities, further widening the gap between urban and rural life.

However, amidst these challenges, Cambodia’s younger generation shines as a beacon of hope. Unlike the previous generation, which bore the brunt of the Khmer Rouge’s destruction, today’s youth have access to better education and are displaying remarkable intelligence and adaptability. This shift is both inspiring and transformative, as these young minds are beginning to drive change in a society that has long been hampered by its past.

Yet, this dynamic also creates tension. With a generational divide in knowledge and skills, older practices and traditions sometimes clash with the aspirations of the younger, more educated population. The result is a society in transition—one that is striving to reconcile its history with its ambitions for the future.

Cambodia is a country of resilience and contrasts, grappling with its past while striving to build a brighter future. Its cities hum with energy, its countryside exudes a timeless charm, and its young generation holds the promise of innovation and progress. Yet, challenges like environmental degradation, societal inequality, and the lingering effects of its tragic history remind us that progress is not linear. As Cambodia navigates its path forward, the strength and determination of its people remain its greatest asset—a testament to a nation that refuses to be defined by its hardships.
