The Support Group, founded by activist Bennie Henry and NBA Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway Sr., is on a mission to transform the lives of Chicago’s youth. Every day, thousands of young people face challenges that no child should carry alone—from unsafe neighborhoods to lack of opportunity after school.

That’s why we’re raising $1.5 million to expand free after-school programs across Chicago—safe spaces where young people can learn, grow, and thrive. Every day in Chicago, too many young people return from school to neighborhoods where opportunity is scarce and risk is high. Without safe places to go, many are left vulnerable to violence, peer pressure, or simply falling behind in school.

The Support Group exists to change that narrative. Through mentorship, academic support, and enrichment programs, we provide the stability, guidance, and inspiration that youth need to see beyond their circumstances and imagine a brighter future.
