Our Story

BattleFly 1313 was born from lived experience, resilience, and a deep commitment to community care.

For years, I’ve worked alongside individuals and families navigating food insecurity, housing instability, and systemic barriers that make everyday survival harder than it should be. Again and again, I witnessed a painful truth: access to food alone is not enough. How people are treated—whether with dignity, respect, and humanity—matters just as much as what they receive.

BattleFly 1313 was created to respond to that gap.

Our work centers on nourishment, creativity, and connection. We believe food is a foundation, not a transaction. It is an entry point for healing, trust, and community building. Too often, people seeking assistance are rushed, overlooked, or made to feel invisible. We are building something different—a space where people feel welcomed, seen, and valued.

Alongside food access, BattleFly 1313 integrates creative expression through art, music, and cultural programming. Creativity is not a luxury; it is a vital tool for healing, identity, and resilience. By bringing nourishment and creativity together, we create environments where individuals can restore not only their bodies, but their sense of belonging and possibility.

This work is happening during an early but active stage of growth. Our systems are in place, our vision is clear, and the need is real. What we are building now—through community support—will allow us to secure space, cover essential operating costs, and continue showing up consistently for those we serve.
