Support Theatre Connect's Teen Troupe Production

For the past few months, the dedicated and talented members of Theatre Connect's Teen Troupe have poured their hearts and creativity into bringing "Life, A Parable of Sorts" to the Heartwood Soundstage. Written by our Student Director, Xavier, and produced by our Teen Troupe participants, this original play showcases the incredible journey of a young child, Alec, as they navigate a mystical labyrinth filled with whimsical and supernatural creatures in the search for the meaning of life.

About Theatre Connect:

Since 2017, Theatre Connect has shared the power of connection and creativity with over 200 LGBTQIA+ youth and adults in Gainesville, FL. Our mission is to foster hope, unity, and mental well-being within the LGBTQIA+ and allied community of North Central Florida through transformative performing arts experiences. As an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are committed to providing a safe space for self-expression and learning, led by professional facilitators who offer engaging sessions in improvisation, stagecraft, and storytelling.

Our work is grounded in diversity and community. We continuously strive to offer inclusive and accessible programs in collaboration with licensed mental health professionals, ensuring Theatre Connect remains a supportive environment that promotes socio-emotional wellness.

The Play: "Life, A Parable of Sorts"

Synopsis:

Alec, a curious child, falls into a mystical labyrinth to uncover the truth about the meaning of life. Along the way, they meet a variety of zany characters, wonky monsters, and a floating orb. The audience helps Alec and companions find their way forward as we all learn about bravery, friendship, and forging one's path.
