Hi, my name is Pepper Bethel, and I’m a proud Navy veteran, financial strategist, and future owner of a legacy accounting firm. But before all that—I was a little girl in West Los Angeles, raised by a single mother on welfare, dreaming of a different future.

I knew early on that education and discipline were my path to breaking the cycles of poverty, dependence, and limitation. I studied hard, joined every academic and leadership club I could, played sports, and was even in the band. But when it came time for college, we didn’t have the money.

So at just 18 years old, I enlisted in the United States Navy.

In the Navy, I excelled—graduating in the top 3 of my class, promoted early, and awarded the National Defense Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. I served with pride in Mississippi, Puerto Rico, and Japan, and came home with something more than medals: a deep commitment to service and a belief in my own strength.

Since leaving the military, I’ve spent more than two decades building a career in financial planning, tax strategy, business development, and consulting. I’ve helped hundreds of small business owners grow, navigate challenges, and protect their future.

Now, it’s my turn.

I’m preparing to acquire TPI Group, Inc., a respected 30-year-old accounting firm in Northern Virginia. With this acquisition, I’ll become one of the few Black women veteran owners of a legacy financial firm in the United States. But more than that—it allows me to:

Create jobs and retain an incredible team
Mentor and educate the next generation of women and minority business owners
Expand access to tax, accounting, and financial services for underserved communities
Build a legacy that outlives me
