Raintree Children & Family Services (Louisiana)

Raintree Children and Family Services has been in operation since 1926. It began as a home for orphaned infants and toddlers and has since expanded to include maternity care for young women and Raintree House, a group home for teenaged foster girls.

Raintree currently serves participants in the parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines. The years have brought many changes to our agency as we have evolved with the changing needs of our state and the communities we serve. Raintree continues to grow as we listen to the needs of our city and fulfill our mission “to provide needed services to at-risk children and youth, encouraging hope and creating opportunities for growth and independent lives.” Raintree Children and Family Services is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation, and a member of the Child Welfare League.

Straight From the Heart (California)

Straight From the Heart is a non-profit resource center for foster, adoptive, kinship children and their caregivers. For the past 21 years, we have offered support and advocacy to the children and families who navigate in a very complex and overburdened Child Welfare System. Straight From The Heart has a 100 percent volunteer staff of foster and adoptive parents who understand the difficulties of the system because they have lived and traveled in it. We are so fortunate to have wonderful selfless members of the community who also volunteer their time and talents at Straight From The Heart. Our staff is dedicated to helping make the world better for our children and families.
