🌳 Our Story: How the TftT Family Tree Began

Eight years ago, Trees for the Triangle sprouted from a simple but powerful idea:
what if planting more native trees could strengthen not just our ecosystems - but our communities too?

Back then, we were a handful of neighbors with shovels, big dreams, and a belief that the Triangle deserved more shade, more biodiversity, and more moments of connection.

Today, that tiny seed has grown into something vibrant and strong:
🌿 2,000+ native trees planted
🌿 A passionate 9-member volunteer Board
🌿 A dedicated team of 5 staff
🌿 Partnerships with schools, neighborhoods, civic groups, and local governments
🌿 A growing community of volunteers, donors, and tree-loving neighbors

Together, we’ve planted trees at schools to protect kids from rising heat.
We’ve added shade to neighborhoods where relief is needed most.
We’ve restored pockets of habitat for birds, pollinators, and everyone who calls this place home.

And with every planting, something else has taken root - connection.
Connection to the land. Connection to one another. Connection to a shared future where everyone in the Triangle can breathe easier, walk cooler streets, and live among thriving green spaces.
