We are coming together as a community for The Big Fix — a lifesaving effort to humanely control the population of community cats in our area. In partnership with South Rhea Animal Hospital and Friends of Ferals, Flying Pigs Sanctuary is helping lead a Feral Fixin’ Day dedicated to spaying and neutering dozens of cats who would otherwise continue the cycle of suffering, overpopulation, and abandonment.

The reality is heartbreaking: one unspayed female cat can have multiple litters each year, quickly leading to hundreds—even thousands—of kittens born into unsafe conditions. Through Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR), we are stopping that cycle at its source. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and cared for—improving their health, reducing fighting and disease, and stabilizing the local population.

This is a rescue-only event, focused on cats already identified by our rescue partners, and our goal is to fix 40–50 cats in a single day. Every dollar raised goes directly toward medical care—surgeries, vaccines, and recovery support.
