Honoring Greg Hampikian's pioneering DNA work and launching The Innocence Center's next chapter in Idaho.

For over two decades, Greg Hampikian and the Idaho Innocence Project have used DNA science to free the wrongly convicted and fight for justice across the state. Now, Greg is passing the torch to The Innocence Center, marking the beginning of a new era of innocence work in Idaho.

Join us the night before TIC's official Idaho swearing-in for an evening celebrating this legacy and looking ahead to the decades of work still to come. Board member Amanda Knox, whose own case was overturned through DNA evidence and work done by the Idaho Innocence Project, will speak on the importance of this work and what it means for the wrongly convicted still waiting for their day of freedom. Amanda will also be on hand selling and signing copies of her book.

We'll also have Bill Coffey as a musical guest! Coffey is a Boise-based performing songwriter, guitar player, and bandleader whose music blends the storytelling of country with the grit and emotion of classic soul. Coffey cut his teeth in Southern California’s roots‑rock scene before settling in Idaho. Both as a solo act and with his band, Bill has toured widely across the West, opened for artists from Dwight Yoakam to Pat Benatar, and had his songs featured in film, television, and on NPR.

The Innocence Center launched in 2023. The Board and Staff have decades of innocence work under their belt, all having worked at the California Innocence Project as a staff or faculty member. Collectively, the group has freed more than 40 people who have served 600+ years in prison for crimes they did not commit. The team has been responsible for getting a dozen laws changed to prevent future injustices and make it easier to free the innocent. The Innocence Center is a member of the Innocence Network.
