Our Impact in 2024

This year, TMJF has worked tirelessly to uplift youth and families in underserved communities. Together, we’ve achieved milestones that demonstrate the power of community:

Expanding Financial Literacy: In partnership with the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU), we launched “Closing the Wealth Gap,” empowering Camden high school students and their families with financial literacy tools through a train-the-trainer model facilitated by CMSRU medical students. We have also enhanced our Financial Literacy Program in the Camden City School District to address the effects of systemic oppression by providing youth with tools for economic empowerment.
Get Ready Fest®: For its 14th year, we served over 1,000 Camden families offering health screenings, financial literacy resources, complimentary haircuts, school supplies, and over 60,000 pounds of nutritious food to help families prepare for the school year.
Scholarships for Future Leaders: Through the Malcolm Jenkins Visionary Impact Scholarship (MJVIS), we supported exceptional students at The Ohio State University, such as Donte Beck-King (Computer Science), Mitch Arthur (Accounting), and Ethan Dicken (Aviation), removing financial barriers so they can excel academically and serve their communities.
Empowering Young Men Through Financial Literacy: TMJF partnered with the College of Engineering’s CARE Office and the Ubuntu Leadership Institute (ULI) to equip high school young men with essential financial skills. This program fosters fiscal responsibility and independence, offering practical tools and knowledge that participants build on throughout the academic year.
Bringing Holiday Joy: This season, we’re preparing to brighten the lives of 280 Philadelphia families with festive food baskets, complete with a turkey and all the trimmings, as well as gifts for children to bring holiday cheer to those in need.
