Hoping to raise $2,000.00 for this adorable Nanday Conure's hospital bill and after-care.

Today, a beautiful little Nandy conure was found in terrible shape, after being attacked by a predator. One of the bird's wings was severely damaged. The Plumery was called in to help get “Malibu,” as we named him, the immediate veterinary care he desperately needed. Malibu is currently getting an exam, blood work and x-rays done, and being fit for a soft cast. It will be a while before we learn whether the wing can be saved or will suffer partial or permanent damage.

We don't yet know if Malibu is someone's pet (no band on either leg) or a wild bird – part of one of Southern California's many wild parrot flocks. Regardless, The Plumery will be on hand to deal with the conure's recovery and rehabilitation. It's entirely possible The Plumery will be Malibu's lifelong home and haven if his recovery is limited and the wing unusable.

Malibu's emergency is one of the realities of operating a nonprofit sanctuary or rescue. We often need to turn to animal and bird lovers for financial help. Any contribution you made toward Malibu's care will go to his continuing hospital visits, customizing a rehabilitation plan, providing the best nutrition, and helping him enjoy as full a life as possible.
