While I am not Jewish, the incredibly positive impact Jewish Americans have had on my life is undeniable, from friends, to co-workers, to authors/composers/artists of my favorite books/music/movies/performances, etc. Why TeachRock? If you know me at all, you know I love music but you may not know that music was a liferaft during the toughest time of my life. It can be the same for others, especially for kids who have a tough time feeling like they belong anywhere. TeachRock provides a hook (sorry, pun intended!) to keep at-risk kids in school - the very type of kids who have made my life better, whatever their ethnicity might be. TeachRock is a phenomenal organization. I hope you'll check them out and donate, whether to this fundraiser or another program that resonates.
