This black-tie event shines a spotlight on excellence in academics, leadership, community service, entrepreneurship, and creative arts.

THE BLACK BOY HONORS POWER LIST

The Black Boy Honors Power List, separate from the Black Boy Honors Awardees is a distinguished recognition celebrating a select group of young Black males who exemplify excellence, leadership, and purpose-driven impact in their schools, communities, and personal pursuits. Hand-selected from a pool of nominations, these honorees have demonstrated remarkable achievements.

More than just a list, this honor is a statement: these young men and boys are not waiting to be told they are powerful—they’re walking in it. They are changemakers, trailblazers, and examples of what it looks like when talent meets discipline, and vision is nurtured in community.

CATEGORIES

For the Culture Award - Honors a student who actively contributes to and promotes the positive expression, appreciation, and preservation of cultural heritage within the community. Whether through art, storytelling, activism, or education, this honoree demonstrates pride in their roots and inspires others to celebrate their cultural identity.

ICE Excellence Award - Recognizes a student who has made a lasting impact within the ICE Mentors Program. Through consistent participation, leadership, and dedication to growth, they embody the values and principles of ICE Mentors, serving as a role model to peers.

Academic Achievement Award - Celebrates a student who demonstrates excellence in academics. Whether through high grades, intellectual curiosity, or significant improvement, this honoree exemplifies a strong commitment to education and lifelong learning.

Against All Odds Award - Honors a student who has overcome significant challenges or adversity with determination, perseverance, and a positive spirit. Their story serves as an inspiration to others facing obstacles in their own journeys.

Technology and Innovation Award - Recognizes a student who excels in technology, coding, app development, or digital creativity. This honoree showcases innovation, problem-solving skills, and forward-thinking in the digital space.

Influencer of the Year Award - Honors a student who uses their voice, platform, and social media presence to inspire, educate, and positively influence others. Their content uplifts, motivates, and drives meaningful conversations within their community.

Athletic Achievement Award - Recognizes a student who demonstrates exceptional talent, discipline, and sportsmanship in athletics. Whether excelling in a team sport or individual competition, this honoree exemplifies dedication, hard work, and resilience on and off the field.

Social Justice & Community Service Impact Award - Recognizes a student deeply committed to advocating for fairness, equality, and positive change in their community. Whether through activism, campaigns, community organizing, or volunteer service, they work tirelessly to address societal injustices, promote equity, and uplift their community.

Entrepreneurship Award - Honors a student who has shown exceptional innovation, creativity, and leadership in business or entrepreneurial endeavors. Through initiative and drive, they create opportunities, solve problems, and inspire others to pursue their own entrepreneurial goals.

Creative Arts Award - Recognizes a student who demonstrates exceptional talent and passion in visual arts, creative writing, design, performing arts, or other artistic mediums.

Dynamic Duo Award (Father & Student) - Honors a father-and-student pair who exemplify a strong bond built on mutual respect, support, and shared values.
