✨ Capacity-Building & Sustainability Planning
We’re laying the groundwork for long-term impact. To ensure NSP’s continued success and sustainability, and with grant support from the Baugh Foundation, we’ve partnered with Kennari Consulting and Voice & Place Consulting, organizations dedicated to helping nonprofits strengthen their mission, vision, and values, and financial sustainability.
We need to raise an additional $6,100 to fully fund our capacity-building efforts. This includes raising $3,600 in the next two months to support our work with Kennari Consulting, and an additional $2,500 for critical website updates.

✨ Rest & Resist Series
This collection of donation-based gatherings fosters year-round connection within the NSP community, expanding engagement beyond the single touchpoint of our annual conference. We have curated a collection of speakers, book clubs, podcasts, and resources designed to nurture rest, resistance, and renewal as we navigate a shifting political and social climate. ✨ Coming Fall 2025 ✨ Online Cohorts + In-Person Retreat
Three new cohorts—Queer Clergy Cohort, Reimagining Church Practices Cohort, and Conversational Preaching Cohort—will meet virtually throughout the year and gather in-person October 6-9 for a retreat at a significantly reduced cost. At Nevertheless She Preached (NSP), we don’t just create space—we cultivate a home where every voice and body is not only welcome but truly belongs. Our mission is rooted in three core commitments: to elevate, transform, and liberate. This means that everything we do is about undoing, subverting, and reimagining the structures and ideologies that have historically excluded, harmed, and dehumanized those made in the image of God. We seek to make right what has been wrong—by amplifying voices from the margins and actively pursuing liberation for all.

Over the past eight years, we have lived out this mission in tangible ways. Our annual NSP conference has become a cornerstone of our work, bringing together more than 200 participants from across the country—both in person and online. And in 2023, we reached a major milestone by securing our first-ever grant from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation. This grant made it possible to launch our Queer Clergy Cohort, a program that has provided a vital connection point for many LGBTQ+ clergy. Participants have shared how these cohorts have helped reduce burnout, increase resilience, and sustain their ministries—work that is essential for their well-being and for the future of the church.

But our impact doesn’t stop there! This year, we are thrilled to announce two new groundbreaking initiatives:

A partnership with Tehom Center Publishing to publish our very first anthology, Imagining a Decolonized Faith, coming in 2025.
A collaboration with The Gathering, A Womanist Congregation, and Chicago Theological Seminary on Building New Tables: Queering Womanist/Feminist Preaching, a multi-year initiative funded by the Lilly Endowment’s Compelling Preaching Initiative. This project will introduce new cohorts, retreats, curricula, and more—creating spaces where marginalized voices are not just heard but celebrated and empowered.

As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, we are filled with anticipation and hope. NSP is growing, and we are dreaming boldly.

We envision new platforms offering year-round resources and support for our community. We want to launch new cohorts, create more opportunities for learning and connection, and expand our conference—both in person and online—so that those who need this space can access it. We are committed to deepening our influence through educational partnerships and other transformative initiatives.

We regularly hear from attendees about the profound impact NSP has had on their lives. Many share that NSP gives them the nourishment they need to sustain their work and their calling. While we are honored to be a source of healing, encouragement, and connection, we don’t want our community to have to wait an entire year to experience the power of NSP. That’s why we are committed to expanding our reach and offering more resources throughout the year.

However, to do this we need financial stability and long-term sustainability.

Financial health isn’t just about keeping the lights on—it’s about ensuring we can continue to serve our community with excellence. It’s about having the resources to maintain our current work, grow our programs, and build a sustainable future. While the support of many has carried us this far, our expanding vision comes with growing needs.
