Cross Roads provides hope to our friends and neighbors suffering from drug and alcohol abuse. Hope for freedom. Hope for wholeness. Hope for eternity. This is about God’s work of redemption... in us, in you and in those who feel trapped in addiction.

Our goal is to walk alongside those in need, as a “friend,” as they connect or reconnect to community while instilling personal responsibility and accountability to each other and to God. And to serve as a touch point to coordinate with area resource providers to help meet a person’s unique needs as they move towards a life of recovery.

We could never have imagined the devastating havoc that drug and alcohol addiction would bring across our whole nation and yes, even here throughout our beloved Outer Banks. This grip of addiction has taken hold of our families, friends and neighbors, regardless of age, gender, race or education, those whose families are saved or unsaved, financially set or just getting by.

Cross Roads response to this epidemic has been total “boots on the ground.” Our peer support specialists assess, coordinate, mentor, and provide referrals for resources like detox, rehab, treatment, clothing, food, housing, overdose prevention and Narcan training.

As we look around at the overwhelming destruction caused by drugs and alcohol, it can be easy to assume it is hopeless and that there is no chance for real change. Yet, all is not lost, the battle isn’t over. God has given us the mission of providing care and hope to our community. Hope for a better tomorrow, hope for hearts and lives to be changed and hope for real freedom.
