We are the North Wake County Composite Non-profit 501c3! Our mission is to empower young people through the transformative experience of education and cycling. We believe that cycling not only promotes physical fitness but also enhances cognitive abilities, critical thinking and the social-emotional development of young people.

Our goal with THE BIKE BASH is to raise awareness and financial support for youth cycling teams in Wake County. Your donations will directly support the existing NICA Composite teams: North Wake County Composite and South Wake County Composite, to kick-start new NICA teams, support new trail development and to provide support to other non-NICA related cycling activities in Wake County.

Cycling is a fun way to create a healthy lifestyle. 4th grade through 9th grade is a prime opportunity to promote cycling as a sport for both boys and girls. In High School, we tend to lose our riders to cars, work and the stresses of school. Many young people do not realize how important exercise is when under extreme stress. We want an opportunity to grab them at a young age when interest is peaked and teach them how to use the passion of cycling to help build community and to use this resource of exercise to help deal with stresses of life.

One big goal is to create cycling clubs/teams inside the Wake County Public High School system. To provide our young cyclists a community during their high school years. Currently, we have two "Composite" teams in Wake County, meaning a team of 40+ student-athletes consists of students from all across northern or southern Wake County. This could mean 1 student from 1 high school. Yet, we understand the importance of building community for students in high school for our young cyclists.

EverydaySpeech.com's Blog post states, "When students feel a sense of belonging and connection within their school community, it has a positive impact on their overall well-being and mental health. They are more likely to feel supported, valued, and motivated to succeed academically. Research has shown that students who have strong social connections in high school experience lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression."

The major obstacle has been getting the WCPSS to allow the existence of a cycling club in the high school programming. However, we are very close to forming our first ever sponsored high school club for the 2025 season. Our first goal is already becoming a reality. Thank you for your support in getting this done.
