As a little girl growing up in South Florida, I was raised in a Jewish home. However, when the domestic violence in our home got out of hand, my mom left my dad to seek refuge at a local hotel on Miami Beach. The water and the sand were our playground. We felt peace there, away from all of the yelling and fighting. It wasn't long, however, that another element found us. Sex traffickers were networked throughout the hotel and soon gained my trust by using my innocence against me.

This would begin my long journey away from safety and into the arms of an unknown world of drugs, manipulation, and abuse; this was the world of sex trafficking.

When I finally broke free from all of these unhealthy relationships, I started There Is Hope For Me.

We are that one person to survivors who may feel alone. We provide survivor to survivor mental health peer support and programming to help survivors of both domestic violence and human trafficking get back on track with their life and goals.

We never want any survivor to ever feel alone again!

We have regular online safe support groups which are run by a survivor leader and therapist.

We also offer family support, so that no family ever has to feel ashamed for what they have gone through.

We do regular trainings to law enforcement and the community on human trafficking identification and trauma informed practices.

We also do outreach to the community by educating students about human trafficking. Through our outreach, we have found that 1 in 3 middle schoolers and 1 in 9 high schoolers are at risk of recruitment into trafficking.

In December, our Florida Survivor Leader, Alexandra will be conducting her first outreach to a wellness clinic where she received support while in the life. We hope you will support her efforts as we celebrate her success!
