I am climbing Kilimanjaro this September for Sickle Forward. While I do not have a personal connection to sickle cell disease, I am been excited for the progress that science has made toward treatment of this terrible disease and excited to do my part with a group of researchers and medical professionals who are directly in the fight. My work is focused on environmental sustainability, and my connection to that work has always been reinforced by adventures in nature in our beautiful, diverse and threatened environment.
