In 2018, our son, Calvin, received a tracheostomy due to double pneumonia and lung failure. We know first-hand the difficulty of bringing home a child with a trach. In 2021, I began serving on the Board of Superman Sam's Survival Kit (S3 Kit) and became the Assistant Director in 2024.
S3 Kit's mission is simple, yet complex: We provide hope to families or caregivers who bring their child home from the hospital with a lifesaving breathing tube (tracheostomy).S3 Kit does this by giving a complimentary basket filled with comfort and practical items to ease their transition home.
What I'm doing this year: The weekend of my 39th birthday (June 5th), I will be setting out to run 39 miles on the Superior Hiking Trail north of Duluth.
What I'm asking of you: To consider donating $39, and help us fund over 10 baskets to send to the families that we serve.
My goal: 39 people giving $39 (or more!) = $1,521 (or more!)
