Trent was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma in 2021, and initially received the first-line treatment protocol. That protocol has not improved significantly in over 40 years - largely because rare "childhood" cancers receive next to zero support from the federal government and pharmaceutical industry.

The Little Warrior Foundation exists to fill this void. It provides financial support to promising researchers and clinicians to find more effective and less toxic therapies for Ewing sarcoma patients -- regardless of age. Since its inception in April 2020, Little Warrior Foundation has granted over $1.6 million dollars towards 7 different institutions and opened 3 clinical trials. Trent participated in one of those clinical trials after the cancer returned.

Trent tragically passed away on August 22, 2025 - far, far too soon.
