Hello! We are Give Merit - a community-based nonprofit supporting the next generation of world-changers in Detroit.

This year, our FATE In Our Stars (FIOS) competition has commenced! FATE In Our Stars (FIOS) is an annual event, planned by 11th grade FATE students, showcasing the dreams of Detroit youth! The purpose of this youth-driven interactive experience is to encourage, inspire, and empower Detroit’s youth to achieve their dreams. On this platform, we will hold a 5-day celebrity fundraising challenge. In a head-to-head battle, the “Comets” will take on the “Stars” to see which team can raise the most money. Our goal is to raise $50,000, so that 10 students can head to college with $5,000 each! All funds raised will go toward FATE college scholarships.

We have been running our FATE program for the last 12 years, and currently work with over 200 young people ages 14-24. We just graduated 100% of our class of 2024 from high school. We have students at Grand Valley State University, Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University, Central Michigan University, and many other programs!
