Unearth & Empower Communities (UEC) is a grassroots movement rooted in Compton, California since 2013, dedicated to building with people, eliminating poverty, and leading with justice—one neighborhood at a time.

We create cradle-to-career pathways to college, employment, and entrepreneurship for youth through STEM education, the arts, and community empowerment. Our mission is grounded in the belief that every young person—regardless of background—deserves access to transformative learning experiences that build critical skills, cultural pride, and economic opportunity.

Guided by our core values of Family, Fun, Learning, Generosity, and Responsibility, UEC believes in the collective power of community to heal, create, and thrive. Our vision—Planting Seeds. Raising Voices. Sharing Power.—represents both our method and our movement.

Together—with your support from 2024-25—we reached 592 unique youth and families across 4,254 total program experiences in Compton and South Los Angeles.

Over 494 instructional hours were logged:

Literacy: 54 hours
Math: 82 hours
STEM: 207.5 hours
Arts: 205 hours
Social Emotional Learning & Community Circles: 84.5 hours
Physical Education: 84.5 hours
