Across Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren Counties, and the City of Winchester, resilience doesn't just happen on its own, it’s built every day by local non-profits and the volunteers who give their time.

Without them, the Northern Shenandoah Valley would be forced to face our vulnerabilities head-on: healthcare access challenges, aging housing supply, fraying connections, and widening inequalities.

Today, the United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley is launching the Community Resiliency Emergency Fund, a rapid-response fund that helps our non-profit partners weather the unexpected and continue serving when everything else stops.

This fund steps in when demand doubles overnight, when a food pantry’s refrigerator fails, or when a shelters pipes burst.

Fast. Local. Flexible.

Because when emergencies hit, paperwork should not get in the way of assistance.

Imagine a day when non-profits are gone.
Clinic doors are locked. Food pantry shelves are bare.
The senior down the gravel lane has no heat and no transportation to healthcare.
That day would break us.

Every gift to the Community Resiliency Emergency Fund keeps our local agencies open and able to make sure that day never comes.
