SRBCC’s monthly arts and culture series allows local an touring independent artists to present their work in our community. Enjoy this clip of La Ruta Ana Otero, where Daniela Santos (Puerto Rico) and Enrique “Peru” Chávez (Chicago) improvise a beautiful piano-bongo conversation. These free events are possible thanks in part to the support of individual donors. Join us this May 10th with Los Pleneros de la Cresta at SRBCC as we get together to make sure that we can continue to offer high quality arts programs in Hermosa, Chicago and beyond.

Programs that are possible thanks to your support: La Cantera
Directed by piano player Adrián Ruiz, La Cantera is SRBCC’s Afro-Caribbean Jazz performance ensemble for youth (ages 19-24). Through a dynamic schedule, participants engage in the business of musical performance, learning to leverage their talents and exposure. On August 25, 2024 a group of eight young artists performed in Puerto Rico for the first time after a week of Master Classes with local musicians with generous support from Sueños Music Festival.
