United Spinal Association supports wheelchair users in times of crisis, helping when it's needed most —often before FEMA or local agencies can respond. This hurricane season alone, we’ve received a staggering number of applications for our Disaster Relief Grant, with more pouring in daily. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’ve been able to provide immediate cash assistance to help with urgent needs such as food, essential supplies, repairs, and more. Much more is needed.

Real Lives Impacted by Your Support

A member’s home ramp was rendered inaccessible by downed trees and debris. With donated funds, we cleared the way for her independence.
One family’s camper—damaged by flooding—is now unsafe to live in. While we work to secure a replacement, they’re forced to move from location to location with what little they have.
Terrell Patterson faced catastrophic damage to his home during Hurricane Ida. “The hurricane ripped off my siding, damaged my floors, destroyed my roof, and left my ramp unusable. United Spinal gave me the hope I needed to begin rebuilding. Without them, I’d still be struggling to make repairs.”

While we’ve been able to provide critical assistance to many, the recovery journey for wheelchair users is long and fraught with obstacles. The demand for support far exceeds the resources currently available.
