At the onset of the crisis in Gaza, I began donating to large organizations to support the 2.1 million displaced and starving people. However, I soon realized these organizations faced significant obstacles. Israeli forces blocked aid trucks carrying essential supplies like medicine, food, water, and anesthesia, preventing them from reaching those in need. Many of these items expired or spoiled due to the delays, and the situation remains dire.

Recognizing the limitations of larger organizations, I launched my own initiative. To date, I’ve been able to provide food for over 350 starving families, sending each family an average of $250 a month. While it isn’t much, it sustains families of up to 10 people for a month. Sadly, I have over 1,000 families contacting me, sharing heartbreaking stories and photos of their children—many of whom are amputees—desperately pleading for food, water, and pain medication.

These families, many of whom were once professionals—doctors, engineers, and Ph.D. holders—are now living in tents under extreme conditions, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. They are enduring starvation and suffering from skin diseases due to lack of water and basic hygiene supplies.

As I speak five languages, including Arabic, I personally vet these families through video calls to confirm their location in Gaza. I review pin-drop locations, pictures, videos, and other evidence, though much of what I see is deeply disturbing.

My organization focuses on six core initiatives:
1. Water Initiative: Delivering 3,500–5,000 liters of water to refugee camps.
2. Family Support: Providing $250 per month to families for necessities such as food, soap, medicine, diapers, fruits, and vegetables. Each family averages 7–10 members.
3. Support for Infants: Distributing baby formula and diapers to families with newborns.
4. Medical Aid: Funding hospitals, clinics, and doctors to provide medicine, anesthesia, and treatments for children suffering from infections and diseases.
5. Mental Health and Community Activities: Hosting events at orphan camps, offering mental health support, arts and crafts, and other activities.
6. Emergency Assistance: Providing financial support for families in critical need of surgeries, medical aid, or famine relief.

Our next major project is focused on education. We plan to establish makeshift schools in tents, as nearly all the buildings in Gaza have been destroyed. These children have already been deprived of education for several years, and it’s critical to provide them with a sense of normalcy and hope for the future.

The need is immense, and while the challenges are overwhelming, every effort makes a difference in the lives of these families.

Lastly, I have no overhead 100% of the donations go to the people of Gaza. Myself and a team of 5 that help me in updating spreadsheets, feed our families and manage incoming requests. All of these team members volunteer their time, free of charge.
