In 2024, the Community Table averaged 981 meals served per month through its Monday dinners and Wednesday/Friday lunch programs, welcoming neighbors and volunteers to its "restaurant without a cash register."

92% of every dollar donated goes directly to program expenses, while only 8% goes to overhead costs like insurance, accounting, and part-time staff.

A 2021 study of underserved and vulnerable populations in Rockbridge found that only 5.09% of respondents reported eating fruits and vegetables 4 or more times per day, and Buena Vista has an extremely high percentage of this population with low food access at almost 92% - highlighting the critical need the Community Table addresses.

The Community Table was founded in 2011 by local people committed to helping their fellow Rockbridge area residents. As the cost of food rises, the Community Table's biggest challenge will be its ability to purchase and prepare healthy meals, as it currently only recoups about 40% of the cost of meals. The Community Table differentiates itself by hand preparing and serving free meals to anyone in the community, regardless of need.
