Welcome to Chinatown began five years ago, in the early days of the pandemic, as a community-powered response to crisis. What started as emergency relief has evolved into long-term economic development, small business support, and a vision for a thriving Chinatown informed by, and built for, the people who call it home.

This May we should be celebrating five years of impact. But instead, we’re sounding the alarm.

Federal support for underserved communities is at risk. Corporate funding for AAPI causes is shrinking. Individual giving is down. While awareness and urgency have faded, the challenges our neighborhood faces haven’t.

That's why we’re launching a fundraising sprint, and we need your help.

Without Welcome to Chinatown, there would be no dedicated organization laser-focused on the economic and cultural resilience of this neighborhood. No Hub designed to bridge generations, support entrepreneurs, and spotlight the stories that matter. No grassroots data to advocate for policy change.

We know that the attention and work precedes Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and continues long after. But the time to recommit to our community is now, and we're asking you to join us. Because even though the headlines have moved on, the needs remain. And we’re still here – and we’re not giving up.
