It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved co-founder, Elaine Baillie. Along with her husband Bob and Dr Guy Bouvier, Elaine helped establish Mira USA as a nonprofit in 2009, creating a legacy that has transformed countless lives through Mira guide dog placements with blind American children.

We, along with our ambassador dog Chopine, were so grateful to be able to visit Elaine last week. The joy on her face during this special visit perfectly captured her lifelong love for our mission and the Mira dogs that make it possible.

After her husband Bob lost his sight, Elaine's kindness and generosity turned her family's challenge into hope for so many others. Her dedication to helping blind American children receive Mira guide dogs has created a lasting impact that will continue to touch lives for generations to come.

Our thoughts are with Elaine's family during this difficult time. Her warmth, compassion, and dedication to helping others will be deeply missed by the entire Mira Foundation USA community.
