The Vashti Center for Children and Families is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive mental health services to the most underserved children and families in the state of Georgia.

We serve 20 children in our residential program on campus and more than 30 in our after school club house, and 700+ in our on-site, and school-based community counseling services, which also include in home visits.

In honor of a dear friend, Chess Gay, Pamela Mathis and Chess’ mother want to establish a book club for our residents. This fund will also provide an opportunity to purchase books for the other children we serve and to pay for a professional to run the sessions with our children during weekly sessions. It’s important that we enable our kids to think beyond their current situations, use their imaginations, and see there’s a whole world that exists outside of what they know.

Children crave structure, and they need to keep their minds on constructive activities that will empower them to grow and expand their minds.

Your support will help us create an inviting space where our children can go to read in a peaceful and cozy environment.
