Veteran Cancer Network was founded after one of its co-founders, Casey, a veteran, was diagnosed with cancer following years of dismissed symptoms and delayed evaluation. As veterans and caregivers, we saw firsthand how service-related exposures, environmental risks, and long-term health effects are often overlooked—especially in younger veterans.

Too often, veterans are told they are “too young” for cancer screening or reassured without further evaluation—until a diagnosis finally comes, and it is already advanced.

Veteran Cancer Network exists to change that reality.

Our work centers on education, awareness, and advocacy—bringing veteran voices into conversations with healthcare providers, policymakers, and partner organizations. We focus on highlighting risk factors, elevating lived experience, and encouraging earlier evaluation when symptoms are present, so fewer veterans face delayed diagnoses.

We are a veteran-led nonprofit dedicated to improving cancer awareness, encouraging earlier conversations about risk and symptoms, and connecting veterans and their families to trusted resources and advocacy efforts.

We believe veterans deserve to be listened to. Families deserve answers. And no one who served should face cancer feeling dismissed, isolated, or alone.
