Love a cat but can’t adopt right now?

You can still change a life. 🐾

A Virtual Adoption is a monthly sponsorship that helps provide food, litter, medicine, and lifesaving veterinary care for the cats and kittens at Lucky Paws.

Every month, we take in sick, injured, abandoned, and at-risk cats from across Oʻahu. Many arrive needing medical treatment, special diets, or extended recovery before they are ready for adoption. Some stay with us longer than expected. All of them depend on steady support.

Your Virtual Adoption helps cover:

• Vaccines and deworming
• Spay/neuter and microchipping
• URI and infection treatment
• Emergency and specialty vet visits
• Food, litter, and daily care

When you become a Virtual Adopter, you become part of that cat’s journey from rescue to forever home.

If the cat you sponsor gets adopted, your support will continue helping another kitty who needs you.

Choose your monthly level below and help us build stability for the cats who depend on us.

Meet our first Virtual Adoption cats

Charlie — A distinguished gentleman in need of steady love

Charlie is a 14-year-old distinguished gentleman with soulful green eyes and a permanent “resting serious face” that hides the softest heart. Don’t let that expression fool you — this sweet old man absolutely melts for ear scritches and chin rubs.

After spending his entire life in a home, Charlie was relinquished when his owner could no longer manage his care. At the shelter, his diabetes went untreated, and he became gravely ill with Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) — a life-threatening condition that required intensive medical care to save his life.

But Charlie is resilient.

With proper insulin and consistent support, he stabilized beautifully. Today, he takes his morning insulin like a total professional and regulates himself remarkably well. He acclimates easily to home environments and thrives on affection, warmth, and steady companionship.

Diabetic cats are often overlooked — not because they aren’t wonderful, but because medical care can feel intimidating. Charlie deserves a peaceful retirement where he will never be forgotten again.

Your Virtual Adoption helps cover:

• Daily insulin and diabetic monitoring
• Ongoing veterinary care
• Specialized nutrition
• The comfort and stability every senior cat deserves

By sponsoring Charlie, you’re not just helping with medical costs — you’re giving a dignified senior gentleman the consistency and security he fought so hard to regain.

Charlie is currently in foster care, waiting patiently for his forever home. Until that day comes, your support ensures he is safe, stable, and deeply loved.

🐾 Claudette — A Quiet Treasure with a Brave Heart

Claudette is a gentle soul who prefers the comfort of a soft bed and a sunny window where she can watch birds and quietly observe the world around her. She isn’t flashy or demanding — she’s thoughtful, calm, and deeply present.

Before arriving at Lucky Paws, Claudette gave birth to five kittens beneath the bar of a nightclub in Kalihi. She kept them safe in a loud, uncertain environment until they were rescued. Every one of her babies has since found a home.

Now it’s Claudette’s turn.

She takes a little time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she becomes a steady, loyal companion — the kind of cat who simply being nearby makes a house feel peaceful. She doesn’t need constant activity. She just needs consistency, safety, and someone who sees her quiet magic.

Your Virtual Adoption helps cover:

• Ongoing wellness care and vaccines

• Nutritious food and daily comfort

• The patience and time shy cats need to fully blossom

• A safe space while she waits for her forever home

By sponsoring Claudette, you’re giving a devoted mama the second chapter she deserves — one filled with stability, dignity, and love.

Claudette is ready to brighten the right home. Until that day comes, your support ensures she is safe and cherished.

🌿 Maka — The One We Couldn’t Let Go

Maka was originally meant to be part of a TNR program — trapped, neutered, and returned to the outdoors. But once we met him, we couldn’t bear the thought of sending him back to survive on his own.

So we kept him safe.

Maka is shy and still learning how to trust people. Every small step forward is a victory — a longer gaze, a closer approach, a quiet moment sitting nearby. He needs patience, gentle consistency, and someone willing to see past the fear to the sweet soul underneath.

And it’s worth it.

Maka loves other cats and would thrive in a home with a confident feline friend to show him the ropes. With the right environment, he will blossom - and one day, without you even noticing when it happened, he’ll be sitting right beside you on the couch.

Your Virtual Adoption helps cover:

• Ongoing socialization and enrichment

• Routine medical care and preventatives

• Nutritious food and daily comfort

• The time and patience shy cats need to fully trust

By sponsoring Maka, you’re investing in a transformation story - the kind where love changes everything.

He wasn’t meant to be returned to the streets. He was meant to be safe. And until his forever family finds him, your support ensures he never has to face the world alone again.

🔥 Rey — “Sweet Baby Rey” with the Comeback Story

Rey’s story began inside a drainpipe at the old Ward Warehouse demolition site — rescued by a kind construction worker before her life could end before it truly began.

She came to Lucky Paws in rough shape and was diagnosed with FIP — a disease once considered fatal. For 84 days, Rey fought. With daily treatment, constant monitoring, and relentless dedication, she beat the odds.

Rey is a survivor.

Today, she is healthy, strong, and full of personality. We lovingly call her “Sweet Baby Rey” (yes, like the BBQ sauce) — because she’s got flavor. She’s a sassy pants with serious cattitude, spunk, and endless zoomies. She loves to climb high, dart across the room, and keep life interesting.

Rey was briefly adopted and did wonderfully in a home, but when her adopter faced a move, she was returned. Through no fault of her own, she’s once again waiting for the stability she deserves.

Beneath the sass is a deeply affectionate girl who bonds strongly with her people. She is living proof that resilience and compassion can completely transform a life.

Your Virtual Adoption helps cover:

• Post-FIP monitoring and wellness care

• Ongoing vet visits and preventatives

• Enrichment for her active, climbing lifestyle

• The stability every comeback cat deserves

By sponsoring Rey, you’re not just supporting a playful personality — you’re honoring one of Lucky Paws’ greatest survival stories.

She has already fought for her life once. Now she’s simply waiting for someone who won’t give up on her.

Until that forever home arrives, your support keeps Sweet Baby Rey safe, strong, and thriving.

💬 Chatty — Diamond Head’s Sassy Sweetheart

Rescued near Diamond Head, this beautiful black, gray, and white tabby girl is full of personality. Chatty is confident, curious, and just the right amount of spicy — she likes things on her terms… but with time and patience, she’ll settle in and make herself right at home.

When she’s happy, she truly lives up to her name. She’ll chirp, comment, and “talk story” with you like you’re her favorite roommate. One of the fastest ways to win her over? A good brushing. She loves it — and once you find her sweet spot, you’ll see that soft side come out.

If you’re looking for a confident companion with a little attitude and a whole lot of charm, Chatty might be your perfect match.

Your Virtual Adoption helps cover:

• Routine wellness care, vaccines, and preventatives
• Daily food, litter, and comfort essentials
• Enrichment and calm, consistent support while she waits
• The time and patience it can take for confident cats to choose their person

Virtual Adoption is especially meaningful for cats who need time to settle and shine. Your monthly sponsorship helps ensure Chatty stays safe, cared for, and adored until her forever family finds her.
