Story
In 1978, Fr. Evans was the Rector at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Phoenixville. He attended the Dioceses Convention of that year where the Dioceses challenged the audience to develop low-income senior housing. Fr. Evans took heed to the calling and in 1985 St. Peter’s Place opened its doors (with HUD funding) in Phoenixville. This endeavor led to the development of more affordable housing for seniors, individuals with mental health, people experiencing homelessness, individuals with HIV/AIDs and families.
In 1998 Kathryn Evans, MSW, joined the management company. By 2002 Kathryn had founded the social services department of the organization. During the next five years, Kathryn transitioned into the Executive Director’s position. CHC continues to thrive under the direction of Kathryn Evans. The company has grown over the years and continues to explore unique opportunities to provide safe, affordable housing to those in need.
