This is how a student answered when we asked what New Urban Arts means to them, and it really reflects the heart of who we are. As we celebrate Giving Tuesday, we are inviting our community to lift up the creativity and joy young people bring into our studio every single day.

New Urban Arts is a place where high school students come together to make art, explore who they are becoming, and connect with people who truly see them. Students lead the way here. They set the tone, try new things, and build friendships that feel real and and the impact lasts a lifetime.

They tell us that they've really developed their creative process and their sense of self through the support of the mentors. They tell us this is a place where you learn to appreciate every walk of life the way you would a beautiful piece of art. Their words remind us that what happens in this studio is more than afterschool programming. It is community. It is belonging. It is young people shaping a space that reflects their brilliance.
