Story
We are the Twistid Arts Initiative. We were born from the desire to raise awareness and access to all forms of visual and performing arts in the community through innovative programming, hands-on education, and immersive events right here in Citrus County.
Our signature event, the inaugural Walk of Arts Festival of 2022, drew in a crowd of over 1,800 people, featured 159 competing junior artists, showcased over 30 food and retail vendors, spotlighted 7 different bands, and gave away $4,200 in prizes. And that was just the first year!
This year - we're going even bigger! The Second Walk of Arts will feature more competition spots for youths -- and because we listened, we're adding some additional fun stuff for both adult and youth artists to compete in this year as well! But, that's not the only event we have up our sleeve.
We're striving to provide more opportunities for the young artists of Citrus County and surrounding areas - but we need your help to do it. As a fledgling non-profit, we do not qualify for many of the larger grants available, so we're turning to the community so that we can continue to provide Citrus County children with fun, safe, art-based activities and events to help foster their skill, confidence, and love of the arts.
