Every day, millions of artists, performers, technicians, crew members, and creative professionals bring stories, music, and imagination into our lives. Yet behind the scenes, many of them navigate immense pressure, unpredictable work environments, burnout, harassment, and prolonged exposure to stressful content, often without access to mental health support.

That’s why Wellbeing in Entertainment and Creative Arts (WECA) was created: to ensure that the people who create our cultural landscape have access to care, community, and trauma-informed resources.

What We Accomplished in 2025

This past year, we made meaningful strides toward building a healthier, more supportive entertainment ecosystem. With the help of our community, WECA:

Launched our Mental Health Support Initiative
Became a member of the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA)
Presented at national conferences and submitted multiple workshops/panels for PAMA 2026
Welcomed a new Board Member, expanding our leadership and reach
Completed advanced training and certification in trauma-informed care and entertainment wellbeing
Continued bringing trauma-informed practices into arts classrooms
Supported professional development for our team through scholarships and community donations

$15 covers 1 entertainment worker’s attendance to a process group
$50 covers 1 therapy session for an entertainment worker
$100 enables us to provide personalized wellbeing toolkits to 10 productions
$250 enables us to host a live process group
$500 supports wellbeing fundamentals training for 10 production crew & talent
$1500 ensures a small-to-medium-sized crew can receive personalized suicide prevention training and ongoing support
$5000 ensures one WECA staff member can become trained as a Wellbeing Coordinator
