The #1 priority of the 2016 Lincoln City Parks System Plan is constructing a new community park to address a recreation gap in Lincoln City. We are doing just that - with the new Schooner Creek Discovery Park!

This park will:

🌳Create more green space equity across the city

🌳Increase outdoor recreation opportunities

🌳Create inclusive play and improve mobility access

🌳Offer needed recreational amenities for visitors & residents

The City of Lincoln City has long recognized the need for more outdoor opportunities and park amenities in Lincoln City. After conducting a comprehensive park system gap analysis and researching park amenities across the state, Lincoln City Parks & Recreation created a Parks System Master Plan in 2016. This new park was cited as the #1 priority project. We are thrilled to begin the Capital Fundraising process to build what will become a shining gem in the Lincoln City Parks System.

If purchasing a paver or item with an inscription, LCP&R must approve final wording to ensure it aligns with our mission and values. See the commemorative items guidelines below.

For pavers:

Message will be centered on the paver.
Message must be limited to:
2 lines of 18 characters each for 4x8
3 lines of 18 characters each for 8x8

Although the donors propose the wording they would like to have placed on the paver, it does become the property of the City of Lincoln City. Inscriptions on the pavers, including any future bricks, tiles and bronze plaques programs that may be developed and placed in Lincoln City’s parks, trails & open spaces, are intended to be a positive acknowledgement of a person(s) or event(s). Inscriptions shall typically include the name(s) of the honoree(s) and may include a brief message of tribute, remembrance or inspiration. Inscriptions may include the name of an organization, business or commercial enterprise when a business is being recognized for a donation or service to the community. The inscription may not include a slogan, logo, or wording that would be considered by the average person to be advertising. As the manager, Lincoln City Parks & Recreation reserves the right to reject any submitted wording which in its opinion fails to meets acceptable community standards, the purpose and the positive based philosophy of our organization. In all instances, inscriptions may not include profanity, vulgarity, or personal attacks nor reference race, religion, color, deity, ethnic heritage, sexual orientation, disability status, or political views or affiliations. Over time engraved pavers may become damaged, broken, worn out or removed by the discretion of the City of Lincoln City. In these instances, Lincoln City Parks & Recreation is not responsible to replace or repair any damaged, broken, or removed pavers.
