Hurricane Helene has left devastating impacts on our mountain communities- especially families with young children.

Many families are still without power, clean running water, or access to consistent resources like healthy food, internet, or firewood to heat their homes.

Despite the challenges that we face, life continues on and babies are being born here everyday. There are midwives, doulas, and postpartum professionals all throughout these mountain hollers that are answering the call and continuing to serve & organize for these families, as we know now more than ever that birth care is essential care.

We created this fundraiser to support mothers, families, & the devoted birth professionals providing vital services for them during this time. With many families and clients relocating or being unable to afford previously signed contracts, local birthworkers have lost a significant amount of income. Some of them remain without power and still face challenges of their own.

This fundraiser aims to help our local birthworkers secure the resources they need to continue serving these mountain families. Funds that are raised will be used to:

-Cover the cost of midwifery and doula care for families that can not afford it

-Cover the cost of postpartum services

-Support families directly with financial needs related to birth and postpartum

-Afford ingredients to provide restorative, nourishing meals to families

-Organize postpartum care packages for families
