For my 28th birthday, I am asking you all for donations—big and small—to help a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I hope to raise $2,800 (USD) for Shoon Dog Rescue, a dog shelter based in Yerevan, Armenia.

Since September 2021, Shoon Dog Rescue has done their part in helping Armenia's stray dog crisis by sheltering, feeding, and taking care of the medical needs of stray/homeless puppies and dogs in Armenia. They also help find loving families and new homes for the animals they take in.

Over the past several months, I have gotten to know Karen, Shoon Dog Rescue's director. He is wholeheartedly dedicated to his work. Thanks to him, some volunteers, and donations from the public, they have been able to assist and take in hundreds of dogs over the past year.

Though shelters across Armenia are doing wonderful work, most still do not have the means or the capacity to help most stray dogs. With your donation, you can help Karen and his team continue their work.

Armenia is at a critical juncture today, and there are many important issues and challenges in the country today that must be tackled head on. The stray dog issue is just one small problem, but one that we can help solve.

Once you funds are fully collected they will be exchanged into Armenian dram and given to Karen directly to purchase food and provide all necessary care and medical treatment for dogs. Monthly foster/shelter payments for 12 dogs amounts to approximately $600 (USD) and they are currently behind on medical bills amounting to $700 USD.
