Our Story

For many years, our Muslim community has been blessed with a small and special masjid—a place that has become deeply meaningful to so many of us. Within its walls, we have prayed together, learned together, celebrated together, welcomed new families, and watched our community grow.

Over the years, we have done our best to improve and care for our masjid. But as our community has grown, one thing has become increasingly clear:

We need more space.

For years, we have searched for a property that could truly meet the needs of our growing Muslim community. Alhamdulillah, we have finally found an incredible opportunity: a former LDS church in our area that is now for sale.

The building is spacious and has the potential to become so much more than a place to pray. We envision the Willamette Valley Islamic Center as a place where Muslims of all ages can worship, learn, grow, connect, and serve.

With this property, we hope to create:

🕌 Spacious prayer areas for our growing congregation
📚 Classrooms for Qur'an, Islamic studies, and educational programs
👶 A daycare to support Muslim children and families
🏀 An indoor basketball court and youth center where our young people can gather in a safe and positive environment
🤲 A dedicated funeral preparation room to honor and care for members of our community at the end of life
🍽️ A spacious kitchen for community meals, Ramadan iftars, celebrations, and events
🌱 Space for programs serving children, youth, adults, new Muslims, families, and the wider community

Our Opportunity—and Our Challenge

We have an opportunity to purchase this property for $800,000 and transform this former church into a permanent masjid and community center for our growing Muslim community.

Before we can move forward with the purchase, we must complete necessary property inspections and due diligence. These upfront costs are essential to determine the condition of the building and identify any repairs or improvements that may be needed.

At this stage, donations may be used toward these inspections and other necessary pre-purchase expenses rather than the $800,000 purchase price itself. Every contribution helps us take the next step toward determining whether this property can become our future masjid, Insha'Allah.

If the inspections and due diligence are successfully completed and the purchase moves forward, we will then use the raised funds to acquire the property and complete the renovations, including removing the existing church pews, creating open prayer spaces, modifying the bathrooms to accommodate wudu, and making other necessary improvements. If the inspections and information gathered during the due diligence period are not up to par, the donations received will be ready for the next opportunity presented to our humble Muslim community.

And we are working AGAINST THE CLOCK.

The sellers would like to close by the end of this year, which gives us less than FOUR MONTHS to raise the funds needed to secure this property.

It is an ambitious goal—but we believe in the generosity of our Ummah and in the power of people coming together for something greater than themselves.

An Opportunity to Leave a Legacy

This is not simply about purchasing a building.

It is about establishing a home for Islam in the Willamette Valley for generations to come.

Imagine the prayers that could be made here. The children who could learn Qur'an here. The young people who could find friendship and belonging here. The families who could gather for Ramadan and Eid. The new Muslims who could find community here. The knowledge that could be taught, the people who could be served, and the lives that could be touched.

For those seeking an opportunity for sadaqah jariyah—ongoing charity—this is an opportunity to contribute toward something whose benefit, insha'Allah, can continue long after us.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim

Whether you are able to give $25, $100, $1,000, $10,000, or more, every contribution brings us closer to opening the doors of the Willamette Valley Islamic Center.

And if you cannot give financially, you can still be part of this effort. Please share this campaign with your family, friends, community, and anyone who may want to participate in this opportunity for lasting good.

We know there are generous hearts near and far who will see the potential of this project.

Four months. One Ummah. One incredible opportunity.

Together, insha'Allah, we can turn this building into a thriving Islamic center and create a legacy that will serve generations to come.

Help us make the Willamette Valley Islamic Center a reality.

May Allah accept every donation, every share, every prayer, and every effort made toward this project, multiply its reward, and make this center a source of benefit for generations to come. Ameen.
