Mark — a retired firefighter who served our community for over 30 years — has faced serious health challenges in recent years, enduring multiple surgeries and now facing the possibility of losing his leg. Right now, they must pay a transport company a steep fee every time Mark leaves the house. Installing this ramp would give him the freedom to come and go without that financial burden.

Mark and Donna Thompson, who are in urgent need of a wheelchair ramp for their home. Mark has spent his life helping others — now it’s our turn to rally for him and Donna.

Paulding Public Safety Appreciation, Inc. (PPSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created to assist public safety employees in times of need. Whether it is for themselves or their immediate family, PPSA can step in to assist when traditional forms are not available or sufficient.

To be eligible for benefits, individuals just need to live OR work inside Paulding County but must work in the realm of public safety - Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS, 911 Dispatch, Animal Control, the Solicitor's Office & the District Attorney's Office.

The assistance from PPSA is used to help with tangible expenses like medical bills, utility bills, mortgage payments, vehicle repairs, hospice and funeral expenses.

In 2024, PPSA has provided over $25,000 in assistance to Public Safety families.
