Background: Gettysburg Area High School (GAHS) currently honors school alumni who have served in our nation’s Armed Forces utilizing a 32 square foot wall display that features alumni names, photos, and branch of service. The current display lacks a title and has reached its capacity of 60 alumni with additional photos yet to be mounted. Our alumni display requires expansion to accommodate additional alumni service members in addition to renovations to address its worn appearance, and the addition of a title marquee.

Purpose: The GAHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), with the assistance of partnering departments throughout the school, seeks funds to produce and maintain a new display that will address the sustainable expansion of the display to accommodate past and future alumni, in addition to providing a product that is esthetically pleasing that includes a tile that represents the alumni and their service. To the greatest extent possible the JROTC seeks to utilize the skills, talent, and resources that exist within our school and our amazing students to accomplish this mission.

At least $5,000.00 in grants each year to Gettysburg Area School District staff to encourage classroom innovation and/or help solve funding challenges outside the annual building or department budget.
Grants for financial assistance to Gettysburg Area High School students enrolled in career and technical education classes to help cover registration and entry fees as well as travel, hotel, and meal costs for attending regional, state, and national competitions and conferences. Financial support for these grants is provided by the Larry R. and Janet M. Redding Designated Endowment Fund held by the Adams County Community Foundation.
