There are approximately 3,200 homeless people within the City of Atlanta's 130 square-mile footprint.

We at Blessing Bags of Warmth For The Homeless have a desire to encourage self-worth within our unhoused (homeless) population through personal face to face contact in, and around, the community.

Building a dialog of understanding and offering the simplest of basic necessities, from personal hygiene to clothing, is beginning to show that a little human to human compassion is immense in bridging the gap between us.

Our focus is to remain an active and visual resource in the community, a beacon of hope if you will, which acts as a go between larger organizations and those in need.

Oftentimes, we have found that open and frank conversation leads to an understanding of the root cause of deprivation for an individual and therefore the ability to connect the person with available support.

Just a simple "How can we help you today?" opens up a dialog that can change a life!

To date we have served over 3,000 un-housed individuals in the Atlanta area.

Winter 2021 we distributed 763 blankets and sleeping bags, 519 coats, 1000+ winter clothing items and HUNDREDS of pounds of food!!

This year WE WANT TO DO MORE!!!

People experiencing homelessness tend to lack access to vital resources, including insulated winter clothes and warm shelter.

This is especially true at night, when temperatures can drop below freezing.

This is where Blessing Bags of Warmth comes in!

This year, we want to not only have a bulk of the supplies needed ahead of the cold snap, we want to have a better way to store and distribute them.

Our goal is to source a reliable outreach vehicle, procure a 24 hour accessible storage facility and (wishful thinking) move into a brick and mortar location!
