Our beloved William decided it was time to try to expire over the weekend. William and his beloved flirty brother Marcus have been with us for years, patiently waiting for someone to love them as much as they love each other. They’ve been passed over by potential adopters again and again due to their shy nature.

On Sunday evening, their foster brought them to the clinic as William was actively trying to leave this plane of existence. Luckily, Dr. Werden AND Kristin both happened to be at the clinic already (even though it was a Sunday)- dealing with other medical issues. They were immediately able to get William started on the treatments he needed in order to stay here earthside with us (at least for now) and concluded that William had developed a case of FIP. If you are unfamiliar with FIP, it moves quickly and can bring a previously perfectly healthy cat to death’s door in a few days - or less. Treatment must be started as quickly as possible, and we are so lucky that William was able to get his treatment started on Sunday evening. In addition to the usual FIP treatment, William also needed multiple chest taps to drain fluid from his chest, a NG tube, emergency fluids, x-rays, and an IV catheter. William is also currently separated from his beloved Marcus so that we can monitor him better (but don’t worry they’re still getting supervised visit time 💕). Once William is stable enough to leave the clinic, he and Marcus will be heading to our foster who specializes in FIP kitties to continue William’s treatment in a home and to keep an eye on Marcus to make sure he stays healthy.

Needless to say, William has become very expensive very quickly, and in order to continue his expensive treatment we need help. Specifically, we need YOUR help. Can you help us? Together we are William’s only chance. Thank you - let’s give William the chance he deserves ❤️
