The Wisdom Walkers is a destination-fitness nonprofit on a mission to disrupt the disproportionate impact of chronic disease in the African American community. Through immersive destination challenges and heritage-based adventures, we spotlight—and actively combat—alarming rates of diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Every journey is a declaration of strength, resilience, and possibility.

Our Wisdom Walkers Scholars Program engages students in living-history experiences that bring culture, legacy, and perseverance to life—where movement fuels meaning and education becomes lived experience.

Our impact is record-setting
• In 2024, the Wisdom Walkers made history as the senior-most group of African Americans to summit the Inca Trail in the Andes Mountains on the path to Machu Picchu.
• In 2022, we set a world record by summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, proving that purpose, power, and endurance have no age limit.

In 2026, the Wisdom Walkers are stepping forward once again—this time to confront hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and stroke head-on. We are raising critical funds for the American Heart Association and the Association of Black Cardiologists because cardiovascular disease remains the #1 killer in our community. We are committed to changing that narrative—one step at a time.
