Our community is at a crossroads. For decades, the Saw Mill Run and Streets Run Watersheds have served as vital arteries of Pittsburgh's South Hills. However, urban runoff, sedimentation, and further development continue to threaten these delicate ecosystems. Watersheds of South Pittsburgh is dedicated to reversing this damage through science-based restoration and community stewardship.

Current environmental data indicates that without intervention, local water quality will continue to decline, impacting native wildlife and community health. To meet these challenges, we require expanded resources to scale our monitoring and restoration efforts.

Our Restoration Vision

Watershed-wide change does not happen overnight. Your financial support will go towards the implementation a multi-phase restoration plan focused on long-term sustainability:

Saw Mill Run Valley MSDP: Implementing natural infrastructure to prevent erosion and property loss.
Water Quality Monitoring: From salt to scuds, monitoring what goes on beneath the surface.
Community Education: Launching workshops that equip residents with tools to engage with watershed science and local government.
