ABOUT THE CLASS: A simple pot of milk can become countless kinds of cheese — and in this relaxed, discussion-based class, you’ll explore how that transformation happens. You’ll talk about the natural cultures that make traditional cheesemaking possible, taste a variety of homemade cheeses, and consider how this age-old craft still fits beautifully into modern kitchens.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Jennifer Murch is a self-taught cheesemaker in the Shenandoah Valley. She and her husband got their first milk cow in the spring of 2021, and Jennifer has been slinging milk into cheese ever since. In addition to hard cheeses, she makes yogurt by the gallon, softer lactic acid cheeses, butter, and ice cream.
